REDMOND, W.A., Jan. 26, 2021 – Pattern Computer®, Inc. is announcing the acquisition of the intellectual property (IP) of Preminon, LLC., a start-up that has focused on computational mathematics related to advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

Since 2016, Pattern Computer has been developing a new form of computing and processing for extremely large and complex data sets. These data sets are often referred to as high dimensional or hyper dimensional data sets and represent the leading edge of computing capability for AI and related analytical systems.

The acquisition of Preminon’s IP is a strategic acquisition intended to increase and accelerate Pattern’s founding mission of developing innovative mathematics while developing unique and powerful systems and approaches for enabling True Pattern Discovery™ in massive data sets, without the need for analysts and executives to have a predetermined hypothesis.

The Pattern team has been making a series of major discoveries in biotech, explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), manufacturing, materials science, animal health, and computer vision. Throughout 2020, Pattern’s primary focus has been on triple-negative breast cancer. Currently, this project is entering in vivo testing at Charles River Labs, with preliminary results expected in early Q3 2021.

“We became aware of Preminon early in their development, and are now delighted to be able to conclude this acquisition. This is one more step in making Pattern Computer a predominant firm in the AI industry,” said Mark R. Anderson, CEO of Pattern Computer.

“We built Preminon to develop machine learning technologies to solve some of the most difficult problems in science. I’m delighted at the acquisition of Preminon IP by Pattern Computer – Pattern Computer is the most advanced machine learning company on the planet, and we’re honored to contribute to their capacity as a leader in commercial AI solutions for scientific and industrial applications”, said Dr. Ben Brown.

Financial details were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to be concluded in the first quarter of 2021.

In November 2020, Pattern Computer was recognized as one of Red Herring’s Top 100 North America winners, which recognizes the continent’s most exciting and innovative private technology companies.

About Pattern Computer

Pattern Computer, a Seattle-area startup, employs its proprietary Pattern Discovery Engine™ to solve the most important and most intractable problems in business, government, academia, research, and medicine.

Pattern’s proprietary mathematical techniques can find subtle and complex patterns in large, hyperdimensional data sets that have remained undetected by multiple previous approaches and systems. In some cases, the data sets are years old and are now yielding groundbreaking insights due to the application of Pattern’s technology and methodology.

While the company is currently applying its computational platform to the challenging field of drug discovery, it is also making True Pattern Discoveries for partners in several other sectors, including additional biomedical research, materials science, aerospace manufacturing, veterinary medicine, air traffic operations, and finance.

CONTACT:

Meg Felso –

360.378.8628 –
