EDMOND, W.A., Feb. 19, 2021 – Pattern Computer®, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Boguski, well-known pioneer in the fields of Bioinformatics, Genomics, and Precision Medicine, is joining the Pattern Computer, Inc. (PCI) Biology Advisory Board.
In 2009, Dr. Boguski founded the Genomic Medicine Initiative at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate hospital of Harvard Medical School. Also, he has served as vice president of the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research and is the founding director of the Paul Allen Institute for Brain Science. Previously, Dr. Boguski has held faculty positions at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the US National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Boguski has received numerous awards and fellowship appointments during his career, including the Regents Award from the National Library of Medicine and the Director’s Award from the National Institutes of Health. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics and an honorary Fellow of the College of American Pathologists. He was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Medicine in 2001.
“Biomedicine is the first and most significant area of focus for our work at Pattern Computer. As we move our first successful in vitro candidates for breast cancer into animal testing, and as we begin to add to our pipelines, it seemed the perfect time to bring Mark on board. We have already benefited from his sound advice, and we look forward to making more unique and differentiating discoveries in the near future,” said Mark R. Anderson, CEO of Pattern Computer.
Pattern is poised for future growth, with an April 2020 announcement of two therapy treatments successfully completing two tiers of in vitro organoid testing at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, demonstrating “significant synergistic interaction” in killing malignant tumor cells with statistically “low-to-no adverse effects” on healthy cells.
“I am excited to be joining the Biology Advisory Board of Pattern Computer, Inc. Mark Anderson and the PCI team have been developing and driving interesting and useful analytical techniques and technologies in relation to understanding the root causes of some of the most difficult problems facing medicine today. I have enjoyed our collaboration to date, and I am eager to work with Mark and the PCI team to develop new and interesting insights to drive improvements in oncology treatments and human health in general,” said Dr. Mark Boguski.
Pattern Computer, a Seattle-area startup, uses its proprietary Pattern Discovery Engine™ to solve the most important and most intractable problems in business and medicine. Its proprietary mathematical techniques can find complex patterns in very-high-order data that have eluded detection by much larger systems.
While the company is currently applying its computational platform to the challenging field of drug discovery, it is also making pattern discoveries for partners in several other sectors, including additional biomedical research, materials science, aerospace manufacturing, veterinary medicine, air traffic operations, and finance.
About Pattern Computer
Pattern Computer, a Seattle-area startup, employs its proprietary Pattern Discovery Engine™ to solve the most important and most intractable problems in business, government, academia, research, and medicine.
Pattern’s proprietary mathematical techniques can find subtle and complex patterns in large, hyperdimensional data sets that have remained undetected by multiple previous approaches and systems. In some cases, the data sets are years old and are now yielding groundbreaking insights due to the application of Pattern’s technology and methodology.
While the company is currently applying its computational platform to the challenging field of drug discovery, it is also making True Pattern Discoveries for partners in several other sectors, including additional biomedical research, materials science, aerospace manufacturing, veterinary medicine, air traffic operations, and finance.
